We have provided an FOI logo for use by public authorities. All public authorities are encouraged to use the logo on all FOI-related material (letters, posters, leaflets etc.), provided that it is used in accordance with the basic design guidelines

• File formats and using the logo
Three versions of the Freedom of Information logo have been produced, as illustrated above. Each version is also available in colour or black and white.
The logo has been provided in English, Welsh and dual language packs, each containing three file formats (EPS, TIFF and GIF). The logo must be used in accordance with the basic Basic
Design Guidelines 
.
All three FOI logos have been registered with the Patent Office in
the name of the Department for Constitutional Affairs. The logos are
licensed for use by any public authority which is subject to the Freedom
of Information Act 2000. The terms of
this licence require that they are used only in accordance with the Basic
Design Guidelines .

The Freedom of Information (FOI) logo may be freely reproduced by others in connection with Freedom of Information except for advertising, endorsement or commercial purposes and shall remain the property of the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA). DCA does not accept responsibility for any of the goods and services associated with the FOI logo when it is used by third parties.
The logo has been provided in four file formats. The table (below) shows which file formats are suitable for each type of use. Click below for further details about each type.

A high resolution image file, for use with graphics software e.g. Adobe Illustrator®, Adobe Photoshop®, Corel Draw® and Quark Express®. Can be scaled down, but only limited scaling up is possible. A very large image has been provided to alleviate this problem.

Please note: these image files are uncompressed and very large.
The JPG is provided for general viewing purposes and use at small sizes on letters. JPG images may be scaled down, but cannot be scaled up without distortion.

This is the only file format in which the logo should be used on websites. A GIF image will provide a consistent and accurate representation to the colour of the FOI logo regardless of the setting on your computer.
